Aviation is one of the most competitive and misunderstood career pathways in the world. Most students interested in becoming pilots are never taught what airlines, flight schools and aviation employers are actually looking for.

BECOME A PILOT has been designed to bridge that gap.

This live online programme combines GCSE & A-Level academic support with real-world aviation mentoring, helping students build the knowledge, confidence and competitive edge needed for future aviation careers.

Delivered live every Tuesday evening at 6pm-8pm by Sam Piri -The Aviation Guy, the programme supports students academically while helping them understand the realities of aviation training, applications, aptitude testing, interviews and professional standards.

What The Programme Covers

Throughout the programme, students will explore topics including:

GCSE & A-Level maths and physics explained through aviation
Aviation theory and real-world airline operations
Pilot training pathways and career routes
Airline aptitude testing and assessment preparation

Flight mechanics, forces and motion
Mass, balance, units & measures

The programme is designed to make academic subjects more contextualised, engaging and relevant while helping students understand how school performance connects directly to aviation opportunities. It also covers coaching and preparation for applications, aptitude testing and flight school/airline assessments.

Hi I'm Sam, a fully qualified commercial pilot with a passion for inspiring the next generation to aim higher both academically and professionally. I uniquely hold Qualified Teacher Status and have over 15 years teaching experience working nationwide propelling students into academic careers including aviation and medicine.

Through my live online programme, I bring aviation to life in a way that is engaging, accessible, and directly relevant to students considering careers in aviation or science, engineering, or beyond.

My journey into aviation hasn’t been conventional and that’s exactly what makes it relatable. I’ve built my career through determination, self-direction, and a genuine fascination with how complex systems work.

Earning my Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) required mastering advanced aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, and human performance, skills that I now translate into interactive, high-impact sessions for students who wish to achieve the same.

Alongside aviation, I’ve developed a strong track record in delivering large-scale educational anatomy events. I secured investment on BBC Dragons' Den spending 8 years working with Deborah Meaden & Peter Jones to build the UKS leading anatomy and physiology training tool. I’ve worked with universities and institutions across the UK, delivering sessions to hundreds of students at a time, consistently receiving excellent feedback for clarity, engagement and real-world relevance. My work has also been featured in high-profile settings, including appearances connected to BBC & Discovery Channel programming, reflecting both the quality and credibility of what I deliver. Over 10 years I have trained 1.3M young people in the medical space and have a prestigious reputation professionally in the field. I bring this wealth of experience to the teaching and training the next generation of pilots.

The programme is open to all GCSE & A Level students and joining unlocks live online content every week, all you need is the aspiration to become a pilot, the willingness to work hard, a computer/tablet and an internet connection.
